Pruning plugins

Greetings, oh venerated gurus of inDesign,

I have an old inDesign template that was originally created on a version of ID that had several third-party plug-ins grafted on (part of a dysfunctional CMS system we were working with at some point).

I no longer use, have installed, nor have access to these plugins.

This doesn’t generally cause much problem – although ID does remind me when I open the file that the document “uses one or more plugins that are not available on your system.” However, I have recently discovered that I’m not able to export packages based on this template. I get the error “This document cannot be packaged due to missing plug-ins. Please install or activate these plug-ins:”

So, my question: Is it possible to somehow make the file “forget” all about the plugins? There is nothing in the file that would rely on any features of the plugins, so far as I can tell. Or is my only option to recreate the template from scratch?

Any enlightenment would be highly appreciated.

      Kind regards
      Chris

If the file does indeed not rely on any plugins then exporting to IDML should do the trick.

      That has done the trick.

      Thank you!
