Propagating template changes to documents created from it ?

      Hi. I’m somewhat of a newcomer to some of the more advanced features in InDesign.

      I will be writing my second cookbook shortly, and I’m thinking of creating a template IDTT file from which each recipe chapter will be based.
      However, I want the flexibility to change the styles in the template file and I’m hoping that InDesign has the feature of propagating any template changes to the document files which were created from the template.

      Is this possible?

      FYI For my first book I stumbled along using InDesign for the very first time. I used the Book feature to create separate documents for each chapter/section. I could propogate styles from one document to all the others, but it became a nightmare keeping track of which docs contained modified styles etc.

      ID doesn’t have a way to link files to their original template.

      You could perhaps use the book panel to do this, if you’re careful:
