Problem with footnote renumbering

      Hello everyone

      I just received a book made in Indesign where around 200 footnotes appear but footnote 15 appears twice so from the repeated footnote 15 it jumps to footnote 17. How can I renumber the notes starting from the second footnote fifteen?

      It’s worth checking to see if these are “real” footnotes, or if someone created them manually.
      For example, try inserting your own test footnote somewhere near the beginning. Do all the other numbers update?
      Here’s another fun test: If they’re “real” footnotes, you can see them in story editor and also jump between them with this shortcut:
