In the Print dialog box, the default is that “Reverse Order” is unchecked. Because I usually print to an inkjet printer, if I intend to print on both sides of the paper (ie., print all even pages and then put the pages back in and print all odd pages) I usually need to check “Reverse Order” as this means the finished bundle is automatically sorted and ready for stapling/binding without my needing to reshuffle.

Is there any way to make “Reverse Order” checked the default?

      ID5.5 on Mac OS X 10.6.8 printing to a Canon i6500.

Make all your setting in print dialog and then save preset then use that setup each time

Yes, thank you, I can see how that might help and have now saved a preset called “Reverse Order” for that purpose.

But how can I make that preset the default? Or do I need to? When I open a new ID document and choose the Print command, it now shows “[Custom]” as the default preset (admitedly showing “Reverse Order” checked) rather than the preset I have saved. Should I be content with that?

Oh dear silly me! This is a much better way to do it!

      Go to File>Print Presets>Define

Have the [Default] selected and click on edit

make your changes and click ok

Then ok again and there you have it your default is now set to the way you want it.

Now why didn’t I think of that? Thank you!
