Printing Issues with thin lines

      Hi,

I have a question about digital printing using Indesign. I downloaded a vector image with very thin lines to use in the background of my artwork. I have a colour background, then the vector image and over that, say an image of a person or a product. When the artwork is sent to the printer, the lines seem to come through on top of the images (photographs). How do I avoid this? I have tried putting the vector image on a different layer but it doesn’t work. PLEASE HELP!

Set the person or the product to have it’s appearance set to Knockout.

      Window>Appearance

Select the image, and ensure that Overprint is not selected.

Your printers should be doing whatever they can to help you resolve this!
