I was wondering if their is an easy/faster way to put prices in a indesign file, we make small catalogs and for the moment we put about 500 prices manual into the file. The prices we get in stickynotes on a pdf file, but we can get those also in excell. I like to know how other people put in prices in a catalog?

You can import from excel into InDesign. Go to File and Place.

I’m new to this site and happened to stumble upon this page while checking it out; the question posed here is interesting to me
because I’ve come in contact with this same problem (somewhat). But, to Sarah, are you suggesting that a date file created in
Excel can be pasted (in-line) with the items listed for pricing; and would it be in the order neccessary to properly read?

Just place the Excel file as a table. Apply tablestyles for styling. Here comes the good part: when a price changes, just update the linked table. To do that, first check “Create links when placing text and spreadsheets” in your Indesign prefs (and don’t forget to turn it off afterwards).
