Hopefully I'm not invoking Satan, but I just discovered that if I use both my wireless and my wired mouse*, I can use one to call up Power Zoom and the other to size the rectangle. Fun!

      Re: normal “one-mouse” use…

I know that we can size the rectangle with the mouse scroll wheel. (or the arrow keys)

Does anyone have any tips for how to hold/use the mouse? I can't figure out how to hold down the mouse _and_ scroll at the same time.

*I'm right-handed, but I taught my left hand how to mouse so that I could share the wear and tear on my arms.

What a fandabby idea! Which mouse do you hold in which hand, and how do you distribute the tasks between them?

      Re: normal “one-mouse” use…

I grip the mouse with my thumb and pinky finger, click and hold with index, and use middle finger for the scrolling. Granted, I have a Logitech mouse that's sculpted to fit your hand, with a raised scroll wheel. I doubt I'd be able to do the same with the Mac Mighty Mouse, there's jsut not enough surface space.

Granted, I have quite small hands, but I find I can use just the method you describe with my Magic Mouse. It's great because the scrolling requires only the lightest of touches – though I will admit that in InDesign this can be a drawback. All other software scrolls very nicely, though. Now if only this mouse came in a wired form…
