    I’ve recently learned that one can generate real inDesign index markers via importing inDesign Tagged Text format text files.

    So far, I’ve created the tagged text files via Applescript using string concatenation. In testing these, when I “place” them via the “Place” command in the File menu, the index mark is created. Very nice.

    But when I try to do the place via Applescript, it doesn’t work. No text shows up in the text frame and no index marker.

    Can anyone show me the syntax for placing a text file in a text frame?

    I’ve tried simply setting the contents of the frame to the text string, but I just get the literal string along with the tags, but no index mark is generated.
