      Hi.

A few weeks ago I posted a problem with overprint in the new printing company. With your help I solved the problem with them and things seems to be okay now. But in this issue of the magazine I work for, they told me some pages were crashing their RIP. I looked at the pages and there were no weird elements, just text and some pictures, but no transparencies, no effects, no nothing.

They said they could only print those pages after converting them to Outlines. Yes, you’ll see here a recall from a lot of old posts here in Indesign Secrets. :)

After some reading I found a suggestion to make the PDF using PDFX-4. I’m not against it, but all printers always ask for a “PDFX-1A with bleed and crop marks”. What do you think? This PDFX-4 makes sense? Won’t it cause me any problem with some elements or images?

      Thanks,
      Luiz

You should ask the printer if they will accept PDF/X-4. If they say yes, then that is definitely the best solution.

Thanks, will do it. Let’s see what will happen… :) I’ll keep you posted. Maybe it will help other people in the future.
