PDF X – Intent and Identifier

      Hi everybody

When I export a PDF/X-1a file from Indesign with color conversion to FOGRA39 it automatically fills in the “output intent profile name” with the same profile: FOGRA39. So that is what I want.

When I then check the pdf in Acrobat is says:

      OutputIntent:
      Identifier: CGATS TR 001
      Info: Coated FOGRA39 (ISO 12647-2:2004)

Why is the Identifier: CGATS TR 001?

Is this a know bug or does it make sense? Is this something I need to worry about?

https://www.color.org/IPA_2003-11_PDFX.pdf. Here you can find some info about it.

      Thanks for the link Gert

Basically I just want to know if it is a contradiction that the OutputIntent in the pdf says:

      Identifier: CGATS TR 001
      Info: Coated FOGRA39 (ISO 12647-2:2004)

Would it not make more sense if both of the “identifier” and “info” were saying Coated FOGRA39 since that is the Output Intent I specified when creating the pdf in InDesign. Or am I missing something

      Thanks

After some looking around, I cannot find another solution than, if you make a pdf/x4 it’s correct. The setting read “fogra39”.
For some reason (default setting by ADobe because they are US based??) in pdf/x1 it’s always CGATS.

      Hi Gert

      Thank you very much

I guess I just leave it with that.

      Have a nice day.
