      Hey folks,

I would like you to share some thoughts on the following:

I’m starting a screen only digital publication layout today, landscape oriented. I need this to fill out a much of the screen as possible. Looking at this page (https://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_display.asp), setting a min-width of like 1356 px would be safe, taking in account a scrollbar on the right. However, it would require a bit crazy aspect ratio, since the height could differ per user (looking at the pdf in browser, or reader, whatever..).

I’m wondering, what would you consider the perfect size, to cater to both high resolution users and lower, in case of a ‘fit-page’ PDF export? I don’t really care for the 16% of users that use subpar screens – they’ll have to live with their hardware limitations. And what about pixel resolution? I dont want high res users see pixelated images and I would actually like to consider that very small amount of retina users.

It’s a great question, and I look forward to seeing if others have suggestions, too! We publish InDesign Magazine as a PDF at 1024 x 768 pixels, and set image resolution to 150 ppi.
