      Hi All

I have just stumbled across somewthing strange whilst copying a group of objects from one document to another.

      In my original document:

      https://i1046.photobucket.com/albums/b467/valve90210/Snapbucket/1797BA32-orig.jpg

(ignore the small text boxes with the overflowing text highlights, I just had to resize them to get rid of the text for one project)

When pasted into a new document

      https://i1046.photobucket.com/albums/b467/valve90210/Snapbucket/C0C3B813-orig.jpg

As if by magic all of my text is missing…

Upon investigating, it seems to be something to do with the text wrapping, as if I select the text boxes where things have vanished and select to ignore text wrapping it all reappears. ALso, If I go back and manually ensure that the text wrapping is set to behind for all the background images the text comes back. Nothing seems to ahve changed from the original so why does it display correctly there and not when I past it?

Could it be because the original file is one I created in Quark and have converted to InDesign?

Has anyone else experience this problem?

I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but I imagine that the fastest way to deal with it would be to create an object style with the text wrap options you want and apply it to the text boxes after you paste them.

You could also look at the Basic Text Frame options in the old and new documents and see if they're different … or whether overrides are being applied in the old version or the new version that might affect the situation … or you could fool around with the different Paste options and see if any of them give you better results. But it's probably easier to just go with option 1. Good luck!

      Amanda
