hi, I have a problem with my paragraph style (ID CS6): after importing a word doc into ID and apply a style I created
all the text become with CAPITAL LETTERS, why is that and how can I fix that? (when I’m typing everything is ok)

If you get All Caps when you apply a paragraph or character style in InDesign, then perhaps the All Caps formatting is part of the style definition? Did you look at the style definition (by editing the style) and see if All Caps or Small Caps is turned on?

Convert to plain text before importing maybe. Just a suggestion.

Word can bring along a lot of garbage paragraph and character styles. Iv’e had similar situations like yours and usually I found that the text had a character style applied that came along from Word! So make sure no character styles are applied, and if they are delete them ASAP.

It seems that Ari was right and the text had a character style applied that came along from Word. thanks for all the answers.
