      Hi.

I have here some very similar documents. They are all 2 colors: Black and PMS 286C. Sometimes I have two open at the same time and Indesign shows two different shades of blue in the 286C.

There is no problem in printing, they are okay, but it’s more about the way the screen is showing them. It’s really not critical, but is there a way to solve this?

      Thanks
      Luiz

I wonder if it has to do with what else is on the page — colors can look different on spreads that have transparency on them.

Thanks, David. It makes a lot of sense. Some files have images, and others don’t and the difference is between them. It’s not about transparency, but a drop shadow (that needs transparency to happen…).

In the past, I remember that the Pages Panel showed an icon when there was transparency in the page. I don’t see it anymore. But it’s fine.

      Thanks for your help.

You can get that transparency icon in the Pages panel if you want it… I think it’s an option in Panel Options (in the pages panel menu)

Yes, drop shadows are one of the forms of transparency. Here’s more on the topic:

      Thanks. This makes perfect sense.

I have here a file that has a PSD on each page (product mockups). It’s crazy on screen, and I need to output it with a different PDF configuration to make it shows right. Indesign is not for beginners. :)

I see the same Pantone problem in Illustrator. I’ve made some tests here today. I have two logos, both PMS 286C. When I open them in separated documents, they show a different blue. If I put both in the same document, they show the same color. Adobe is weird sometimes. :)

Thanks again, David. You always help us a lot!
