Sorry if this seems like an easy question, but I can’t figure it out.

i’m going a document that has a lot of text that says, “see page XX for an example”. Right now as I layout the pages, those numbers change.

How can I mark a sentence or word on a page as like a variable that returns the page number that I can use to reference what page it’s actually on. So in my text I can put, “see page <VARIABLE_REF_PG_No> for an example” rather than having to wait for the layout to be done and manually go back and have to change all those references?

Sounds like you need Cross-References! (See the cross-references panel.) More here: https://creativepro.com/tag/cross-references
