    I feel I am missing something obvious here but I need to capture the position of the current page within the document as a variable. So if the focus is on page 5 of a 10 page document I need the variable to return the number 5, regardless of whether section numbers have been applied.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Stuart, do you mean something like https://jongware.mit.edu/idcs6js/pc_Page.html#documentOffset — “The sequential number of the page within the document”?

    This is the index of the nth PHYSICAL page in the entire document, disregarding any and all page numbering. Since it is a Javascript index, it starts at 0, NOT at 1, as a “page number” would.
