    I added page numbers to my Master Pages, and they are appearing as “1. 1”, “1. 2”, “1. 3”, etc. I can’t figure out where the first “1” is coming from. I have “Include prefix when numbering pages” unchecked. Thanks.

    Hi Jedidiah,
    maybe you’ve applied some numbering list option to the page number?
    The page number seems to have the numbering list option activated.

    Select the page number special character in the master page and look at this icon in the control panel:

    If it’s selected (like as in the screenshot) then you’re auto numbering the numbers… deselect it

    That was it! Thanks so much. I’m not sure how I turned that on, but I would never have found it without your help.
