I need to number my document for a legal newsletter as follows:

      7, 8, 9, 10, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 11, 12 , 13 etc.

Is this possible through the Page Number Section in InDesign?

      Tks

On your master page where you have insterted auto page numbers you can insert a Section Marker directly after it – no spaces just go to Type>insert special character>markers>section marker

      Then for page 10, 10.1, 10.2, etc.

On each page go to the Pages Panel, right click or cmd click on each page and go to Numbering and Section options (or use the fly out menu in the top right corner of the panel)

From here select those pages to start numbering at 10 and for the section marker insert

.2, .3, .4 etc. until all pages are done.

That's all I can think of for now, if I get another idea I'll post it to.

Make sure that you only select the pages you need individually

So select page 3 in the Pages Panel and in the Numbering and Section Options for the page choose

      Start Page Numbering: 3

      Section Marker: .1

And then on the following page (numbered 4) choose the Numbering and Section options

      Start Page Numbering: 3

      Section Marker: .2

      and so on
