    I’ve lost all control of the page numbers in a document.

    Before I had a “section” with roman numerals. Then the remainder of the document was plain old numbers.

    Now I have started anew document, beginning with “Page 10” … I will create the prefacing pages in another document and import them in later. Meantime, the pages are numbered beginning at 10 … but the page palette calls it page one … so, therefore, everything is off. When our author asks for a correction on page 20, I need to refer to 11, and so forth.

    Now I’m also getting brackets around the page numbers in the palette.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Still getting the brackets, so I suppose I want to turn off “Allow Sections to Shuffle” …

    Whoops … not quite … STILL … InDesign will number the page “10” … but the page pallette window still starts at “1” … *sigh* …

    Preferences > General > Page Numbering > View > Section Numbering
