Happy New Year everyone and fingers crossed for a much much much better year.

So the book publisher I work (from home) for has asked me to provide him with all the InDesign files for the 300+ books I have set for him since 2008. Well, that’s fine because I can Package them – or at least I could if some of them didn’t give me a problem.

I don’t have a problem with all the books, but several times InDesign (2020 version 15.1.3 – 2019 iMac running Mojave) quits immediately before generating the PDF. I can’t work it out. It doesn’t seem to be the age of the book or the InDesign.Mac OS version I first set them in – just totally random.

The endless quitting of InDesign is a bit odd in that it seems to lose my Preference settings every time.

So I was wondering if anyone had a clue (I have turned off CMS as some books seemed to have a problem checking that – 99% of the books are in black and white anyway so I didn’t understand what that was all about – not that it’s made any difference to the quitting problem) as to what’s going on? I’ve restarted my iMac several times (assuming that Mojave checks the Permissions) and, of course, endlessly reset InDesign’s prefs.

Is InDesign v16 worth upgrading to? Has Adobe mended all the bugs before giving us a new version?

      Thank you for listening.

Thanks to sharing this topic, if you need any Custom Packaging is definitely the future of tomorrow. Emerging brands would be lucky if they adopt this packaging instead of any other packaging.
