I opened indesign CC (and the new Indesign CC 2014) for the first time. I’ve been a creative cloud member for a while but normally use, PS AI and Premiere (a little)

I just started watching David’s Lynda.com essential training so I decided to fire up indesign.

The weird thing is that the only thing I see when opening the program in the toolbar on top and on the right and left. The entire screen still shows the desktop and there is no red, yellow and green (close, min and max buttons) like in every other adobe program.

Is this a normal way to start indesign?
If so how can I add the “full screen” so I see the pasteboard instead of my desktop.
If this is not suppose to look like this should I delete the apps and try reinstalling?

      Here is a screenshot:

Thanks in advance for this newb question.

It looks normal to me. Since you don’t have any documents open (as it appears from your screen shot), you won’t see any close, min, max buttons). You don’t have any documents open, thus you can’t minimize, close, or maximize.

And once you have a document open you will be able to see the pasteboard.

I’m sorry if I don’t understand the problem, but it appears you don’t have a document open.

ok that was my problem, I didn’t have a doc open. I’m just used to seeing the min, max and close buttons when I open a program.

      Thanks for you help.

Additionally, if you go to ‘Window’ in the menu bar then click ‘Application Frame’ it’ll look the same as you have Ps & Ai set up.
