      Hi Everyone,

I’ve been checking this everywhere, asked our IT department, asked other guys at the company but no one knew the answer. Maybe someone here…

We are working with SolidWorks PDM and our InDesign files are located on that server. I used to be able to open files from that server by clicking on “Recent Places” in the Open dialogue box, but since I’ve got my new computer, I can’t do that any more.

I can see those folders when I open Recent Places simply on my computer, but when I try to reach them through InDesign, they aren’t there.

Do you have any idea how to force InDesign to see that server as well?

      Thanks a lot in advance,

      Zita

Total guess here (especially since you’ve already talked to IT). Was your network drive mapped on the old PC?

Hi Bob, no, it wasn’t. It showed and shows as a folder within C: drive (with a different icon). I would think it’s a hidden InDesign setting, but of course it can be something else as well. I just have no idea where to look.

I would try to map the drive and see what happens. Here is a link that might be of any help

      Hello Gert,

As I wrote before, my computer can see those folders when I open “Recent Places” from the start menu. So I don’t think a mapping would solve the problem. It wasn’t mapped before either. On my previous machine I had 32-bit OS and now it’s 64-bit. I have a feeling this is the root of the problem. But I’ll search further. Thanks for your tips!
