Hi,
When I create a new assignment by either selecting text frames with the selection tool or by adding all stories to an assignment, the text is not coming in when I open the .icma file in InCopy. There are just empty frames . The only way I can get the text to show up in InCopy is by actually having my text tool active in a frame and then creating an assignment. Then I have to go to each text frame again with the text tool active in it and then adding it to the assignment. I have to do this to each text frame.
I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the xml in the .icml files. This is the xml I am getting:
<?aid style=”50″ type=”pi_for_SnippetINX” readerVersion=”6.0″ featureSet=”257″ product=”7.5(142)” ?>
Should it be something different for type?
When I use the text tool to create assigments, the type is just “snippet”.
I was having trouble with exporting to .idml so that made me think it could be the same type of thing with this. When I export to .idml, I get the same type=”pi_for_SnippetINX” and I have to manually change it to type=”document” before I can open up an .idml file. I did try editing the .icml files and changing it to “document” but that broke the links when I opened the .icma in InCopy.
I have tried previously to do all of the expected fixes. Reset preferences, uninstalled, reinstalled and new user but this did not change the xml to the correct “document” type.
If anyone could shed some light on this, I would truly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Janine
