No login on forum pages?

I just loaded up the forum pages because I wanted to ask a question. There was a little piece of text near the top of each page telling me I had to log in to post, but no way that I could see of actually doing so – not even by clicking on that piece of text. It took me a moment to figure out that I had to go back to the blog pages and log in there.

Any chance of having a login button on the forum pages?

There should be a button at the top-left corner, in the black bar below the logo, that says Become a Member and then Log in. If it's missing, something may have gone wrong… perhaps Refresh/Reload the page? If that doesn't help, please do let us know. I haven't seen that problem before.

(That said, I wish it were easier to log in… it's kind of clunky. For example, if you're not logged in and you're reading a particular forum post and you want to reply, you have to go log in on one page, and then it drops you back at the top level of the forum (instead of the post you were reading. That always frustrates me. Someday we'll get the technology to do this cleaner.)

Well, there's something wrong with that black bar on my computer, because now that I'm logged in it says things like

      Welcome back, orielwen !

      Log out

(with the 'out' of 'Log out' on a separate line), so that the HTML code for the link is visible.

It actually has the URL appearing in the black box? (Which I guess might push “log out” to a separate line.)

I'm not seeing that here … thinking, either your browser is having a glitch (try a different one and see if it occurs) or Pariah's working on some code and you requested the page at just the wrong microsecond. ;-) Try refreshing.
