New 2017 iMac and CC2017 and GUI setting

Can anyone tell me what good that GUI setting is?

To me, it’s annoying. I get grey hairline rules across pages and they don’t go away unless I scroll down and the back up.

Also–in 2017 it seems (at least to me) that measuring things with the guides in cumbersome (unlike earlier versions). I try to drag a guideline down and up dragging the page and have to hit Apple + Z.

I’ve turned off the GUI setting for now.

Oh–also–in the pages palette–the master pages don’t align properly. Half of the right-hand side are cut off. I have no idea how to fix that.

This is a brand new 2017 iMac, OS 10.12.6.

Also–is there a setting so the grid colors and guideline colors are what they should be. I have a 2010 iMac at work and blue is blue. In 2017 and my new iMac they are very faint.

If anyone else has experience with the new iMacs, Sierria, and Indesign–I’d appreciate any input.

Which setting are you talking about, Dwayne? Do you mean GPU?

As for the panel getting cut off, try rebuilding your preferences: https://creativepro.com/resources/faq

Sorry–GPU. Don’t know why I typed GUI. Seems weird I may have to rebuild my preferences as I’ve only used CC2017 once or twice.

Would that explain why I’m getting what looks like Guide rules on my pages that disapapear when I scroll down and then back up. Turning off the GPU seemed to fix that.

update–rebuilt preferences and still the same thing. Also does it in CC2015.

I wonder if it’s something to do with Sierra.

I can still select the master pages, but it sucks that half the right side is cut off. They seem to extend beyond the panel width, and making it wider has no effect.

I guess I may have to learn to live with it.
