I am a fairly competent InDesign user but I am having problems and desperately need to know how to set up text with paragraph and character styles to look like this https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8241289/Paragraph%20Style%20Problem.jpg

I have tried to do so and I can only get the first 3 words and the sentence after to be formatted correctly but cannot get both bullets and the last line formatting to work no matter how I nest the styles. If anyone could set this up and give me a literal step by step on how to do it I’d be super grateful.

      Thanks,
      Clint

I’m not sure what the difficult is. Is this 5 different paragraphs?
The first paragraph would use a nested style, applying a character style to the first 3 words. The bullet paragraphs should be just bulletted paragraphs…

      Hi David,

Sorry If I didn’t explain well. It would be one paragraph with teh first 3 words as one character style followed by body copy in another style and then a bulleted list of undefined length and then after the list a call to action in a different font and color. I was asked to use paragraph styles to handle the whole thing but I can’t figure out how to make the bulleted text as a style, I had no problem with the Paragraph style that affected the first couple words and then rest of body copy but when I tried to create a bulleted character style and nest it in that paragraph style no bullets would appear?

I wish I could explain it more clearly, if it would help here is a link to my imdd file, https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8241289/Paragraph%20Styles%20Problem.indd.

Thanks for taking the time to help.

      Clint

Hm. It would be pretty hard to do that as a single paragraph. Why does it need to be one paragraph?

I guess you’d need to use Shift-Return to add line breaks in the middle of the paragraph, and after each bulleted line.

Use a style for the first para then “next style” with another style for the bullets
