      Using InDesign recently has become a real pain. Problem is that when working with text, the entire text frame, sometimes two or three frames on the one page simply disappears. When I scroll the page out of sight, and then back again, there it is! All OK. Usually it happens when working on text, making alts or inserting additional words. Its not related to text wrap, indents or anything – the text just suddenly goes, the text frame is still there, photographs are still there. If I have selected text to cut, the page will go white, but the highlighted selection is solid black, and it does cut – when the text comes back the selection has gone, as intended. I can save a page when it has gone white, and it re-opens perfectly! Its driving me mad! Can you suggest a solution?

      Yeah, this has happened to me a lot, just on certain documents… and usually on pages with tables. I don’t know why. Next time it happens, try pressing Command-Option-/ (slash) or Ctrl-Alt-/ which forces the screen to redraw.

      I very often have an issue whereby the text in a frame does not disappear entirely but suddenly goes pale/grey, almost a ghosting effect. I have to click on the frame with the pointer tool and hold it until it comes back to solid black text, sometimes needing to move the frame slightly before it will come back. This happens on any particular document at frequent intervals. I had not tried the Command-Option-/ but shall in future.

      I’ve seen this when several words have No Break applied.

      Window->Character->Flyout Menu->No Break
