I opened one of my InDesign documents today, and it told me that a linked file needed to be updated. The file in question is a .txt file and there is no reason why I would need the file for this particular document. When I opened the links panel, there is no location shown for that file, and when I click on the “Go to file” icon in the links panel, nothing happens. I have looked on the pasteboard for the actual page, and on the master pages, and there is nothing there.

I actually updated the link location, and will simply recreate the document, which is a simple one to eliminate this oddity, but I was wondering if anyone here has ever dealt with something like this, and might provide some insight into what may be causing the issue.

      Or TL;DR:

How can I remove this linked file if I can’t find where it is located?
