Multi-line URLs generate a “tagged annotations failed” error in Acrobat.

      Greetings,

This is an accessibility error that I receive when I generate an accessible PDF via InDesign.

Sometimes when I have a URL that is flowing in 2 or more lines because of short column width, I receive a “tagged annotations failed” error in Acrobat on accessibility check for that URL.

When diagnosing the PDF, it looks like only some lines of the URL are marked as such.

Not sure if it’s related or not, when I make tag markers visible in InDesign to troubleshoot, it seems that the URL is properly enclosed in a “P” tag. (I tag the document in InDesign pre PDF production)

Obviously, fixing this in Acrobat is chaotic and usually generates a cascade of errors in the document. Also, another disadvantage is any changes in InDesign requires PDF generation and overwriting the accessibility “fix”.

So, a fix in InDesign is the desirable goal.

      I greatly appreciate your advice.

      Kind regards,
      Kasra
