Multi-level Bullets & space after

I’m setting up InDesign templates for other people so I’d like them to be as easy as possible to use with the least amount of paragraph styles to accomplish this. I have three paragraph styles for bullets (level 1, level 2, and level 3). I’d like the space between all bulleted lines to be 0″ and the space after the LAST bullet to be .125″ regardless of what level it is. Is there any way to accomplish this with my three bullet paragraph styles?

If this was simply just a one-level bulleted list paragraph style, I could easily do it with space after: .125 & space between paragraphs using same style: 0.

Do I need to instruct the users to always modify the final line to .125 space after? OR create three MORE paragraph styles? I’m hoping there’s an easier way to do this.

      Thanks in advance!

Try to use “Space Between Paragraphs Using Same Style” option and make it “0”

Like I said, “If this was simply just a one-level bulleted list paragraph style, I could easily do it with space after: .125 & space between paragraphs using same style: 0.”

Is there any way to have a three-level bulleted list using just one paragraph style so I can take advantage of “Space between paragraphs using same style?”

Stephanie: No, I don’t think there is a way to do that, unfortunately. In this situation, I would make 4 styles: regular bullet, 2nd level bullet, 3rd level bullet, and then “last bullet” (which would have the space after).

You can simply do it if you consider that play “1 click” is not too much work!

I don’t talk about a script [even if I prefer this way] but 3 simple regex play in 1 click:

1/ reset the space before the list,
2/ apply a space before the fist para of the list,
3/ apply a space after the last para of the list.

Interesting… I’m not sure how you can do this with grep/regex. If it is an automatic list, there is probably no way to tell with grep that it is is a list vs. a regular paragraph. No?

And to do all three of these would require 3 steps, no? You could do all three with one click with a script though.

First, you’re surely not the only one to be perplexed about the use of Grep here! …
Then, nothing to see with auto-num.
Finally, using e.g. Multi/Find-Change, you will just need 1 click and could avoid to use a script.
