We have recently upgraded from CS3, in which we used EasyCatalog and EasyCatalog pagination plug-ins. In CS4, we now use InCatalog. When opening a document we get the “missing plug-in” alert. No biggie, you can click through. However, we cannot package documents. We get an error message saying “This document cannot be packaged due to missing plug-ins. Please install or activate these plug-ins: EasyCatalog Pagination.pln.” Even though the document was not built with these plug-ins, the system that created the file had them. Is there any way to get rid of the plug-in information from files?

I think the only way is to save them as INX (or, since this is CS4, its bigger cousin IDML) and then open that. Saving in these “compatible” formats strips out everything that's not actually used (and — very occasionally — sometimes stuff that was in use so don't delete your original files just yet).

Thank you Jongware, that worked. Kind of a pain, but easier than building a new document, especially with multi-page docs. Good advice not to delete the original! Thanks again!
