Having trouble with fonts not showing in IDcs4.

After installing another program in Windows XP Prof. (Poster Artist Lite from Canon for wideformat simple layouts), it apparently installed truetype fonts that are the same as my type 1 fonts (Swiss). Some of the PS fonts do not show in the font display & if I open a document with, let's say Swiss Roman, I get the grayed out type font missing message. Afer looking in the font folder, I did notice that the truetype fonts are newer than the PS fonts. Would this have any relevance. ID does display most of the Swiss family, just not the Roman and I think a couple of others. The font does show up in Illustrator though.

      ???Help???

Font management program is the way if you have to use the exact same font each time, Linotype FontExplorer X is a pretty good one, tried suitcase but kept on getting conflicts with it.

Illustrator will sometimes show a font like it is there when it is not I think!

With Fontexplorer you can have as many different versions of the same font on the computer but just the one you need for the current job active at a time.

A good font manager is a must when doing design.
