To me, one of the most useful actions for buttons in InDesign when creating interactive PDFs, is the “close” action, that was under the “plus” sign on the Buttons panel. Well, can anyone tell my why Adobe decided to get out of this important feature?. It´s true, you can create a button with a close action just on Acrobat, but what if your publication has hundreds of pages? you have to do extra work.

I don't know why they removed it. What were you using it for? Why was it so useful for you? It just closed the PDF. I never found a good use for that.

Hi David. It sounds kinda useless if you have only ONE or no more than 20 pages. But, it makes sense if (like my case) your document has 600 pages, it was generated by creating a book in InDesign (i think that´s the right way to do it) and ALL the pages in your document must have an Exit button.

      hi

yes I to used this button acction for a 30 page mag I make regularly. The close button is on each page with other nav buttons. My clients wants it there still so I now have to mauanlly do this in Acrobat. Now I lose money, getting really p**d off at Adobe

      Hello all!

I hope that I am not going off on a tangent here or misunderstanding you, but it sounds like you are setting the action for each individual button on each individual page. Even though you do still have to do some work in Acrobat, you should be able to set the action once on a single button that you made in InDesign and then use “duplicate” for the same button on the rest of the pages.

I am not quite sure what the exact command is in English, but I do believe it is “duplicate” which you can access by right clicking.

Hi. I realise this is an old post but I've only just started using InDesign CS6 (my company was very slow making transition from CS3) and was surprised that a brand guidelines document I was updating didn't now have an 'exit' button action I could use.

Has this been resolved at all? I usually set these documents up to be Full Screen Mode and an exit button is handy when users can't 'see' the usual navigation and want to exit or quit.
