Is it just me or is there a giant chunk of memory being used by InDesign CS5. I am finding it very slow and after working a while I find it using around 900meg of ram. Is there something easy to do that will fix this. Are there things that we can turn off that we don't need. Photoshop used to be the ram eater but this seems ridiculous. I only have 4 Gig ram 2.4 processor Intel dual core running 10.6.4

I think something must be wrong there. Strange. I do recommend quitting and relaunching InDesign once every day or two.

That said, ID does seem to use a lot sometimes. Check out this blog post over at planet quark:

Hi David – I did read the post on Planet Quark and that is what led me to believe there was a memory issue with CS5. I quit CS5 last night and restarted it. Started off about 200meg memory – it has now gone to 680 meg. I am just working on a magazine, but wanted to know if this was actually strange or not. I will do a complete new install I think as it has been a bit gooby ever since I started using IND 5. I just get confused at this stage what is a bug and what is my machine. Thanks again.
