      Hi,

I just started a new job, which is quite heavy on hyperlinked text within paragraphs of the Word source doc. I simply pasted the Word source material into text frames. Then I edited the hyperlink character style to underline so I could see them, yet they don’t pop up. I check the hyperlinks menu, no links listed.

In a previous job I also had plenty of hyperlinks, which to my best knowledge all got along while pasting from a Word source doc. Yet these hyperlinks were all present in footnotes (footnotes also automatically paste along). Changing the hyperlink style to underligned worked for these links and as far as I know, I haven’t manually added them.

I’m clearly missing something, could anyone point out how to transfer the hyperlinks in the text while pasting, preferably without having to ‘place’ an entire Word doc into the Indesign file?

In my preferences, ‘All information(Index markers, styles, etc)’ is selected for pasting from another app.

Version: Indesign CS 5.5, Office 2011 Mac

(I should add that I’m looking to maintain links without using file>place, because sometimes I get messy Word docs and don’t want to clean them up first, too time consuming)
