      Hi Everyone,

When designing my next products catalogue for work I want to include a “place holder” variable for each product, and at the time that I “assemble” the InDesign document into a PDF I want to populate the variable with prices. Ideally I would like to draw the prices directly from our business software (SAP Business One) using a database connection. However if a direct connection to our database (Microsoft SQL) isn’t possible then I would like to draw the data from an XML document.

If anybody has any suggestions regarding good software to achieve my outcomes they will be greatly appreciated.

      Kind Regards,

      David

Do a search for “database” here at indesignsecrets and you’ll find a wide range of possibilities. If you want a direct connection, you might look at DataLinker from Teacup Software, InCatalog from Em Software, or EasyCatalog from 65bit.
