I guess that's the best sub-forum for this post if not feel free to move it :).

I'm looking for an american forum that is about graphic design or the graphic industry. That includes all kind of topics like InDesign, Illustrator, etc., discussions about the best workflows, colormanagement, job market discussions and what not else. It shouldn't be a hobbyist forum because I am looking for serious insight into the US graphic industry.

I want to move to the USA in the future and in order to get a working visa the first thing I have to do is to figure out what skills are needed or lacking in the USA. Therefore a dialogue with professionals would be the best way to find that out.

      Know any good resources?

Not really, Andreas. A U.S. forum? Seems like most forums are international. There are “english language” forums, but they attract attention from around the world. (Like you!)

I think the skills that are needed in the USA are the same as everywhere: understanding of the basic technologies and concepts, understanding of workflow and color management, understanding of scripting/automation.

Andreas, I guess any topic can be discussed in here, as this is, after all, “An informal place to hang out and talk about Pub-lishing” :D

Andreas, I think you're looking for graphicdesignforum.com. It fits all of your criteria, and is frequented by professionals from every part of the industry. It's not restricted to the US, by any means, but the it's based in the US and has plenty of active members who are based in the US.
