Hi all – I have a client who wants to make a 16-page, design-intensive document available via its website. They want anyone who can read the website on any device, from a smartphone to a PC to a tablet of any type, to be able to click the link and view their document. And, they are not satisfied with using a PDF because a PDF doesn't have the interactive page flip feature. They want people to be able to flip the pages as in a book. They also want live hyperlinks (that's the easiest part). But there is no other interactivity – no buttons, sound, video, etc. Just the page flips. They really want that interactive page curl, or at least the ePub equivalent.

This is a free marketing document that they want to make available to the general public. I made them a sample fixed-layout ePub, but they don't want people to have to get it from iTunes or have to sideload it or email it to their phone, or anything . . . they want people to be able to just click on the website and view the document. And they want it to work the same for everyone.

At first they wanted it to be a download for offline viewing – they'd still love that as well but I told them there isn't one file format that would work on all the different platforms. So, since they need to go online to get it anyway, they are OK with having to be online to read it.

Seems like it has to be custom coded, but I don't have the programming background to know what can be done. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Well, nobody has replied but I do have an update – in case anyone else is looking for a similar solution.

The closest thing I've found to what my client wants is https://www.uniflip.com. It's an online flip-book site, so it would have to be accessed via the web browser.

I also checked out AerBooks.com – they have a similar solution but it doesn't do the page turns, yet. They did mention that would be available as a customized option for extra $.

In both cases, you can embed the book as an iFrame plugin into your own website so the reader doesn't have to leave your site. It's an HTML5 solution so it won't work on older browsers.

Thanks. I use this tool uniflip. It is a pretty good page turning software.

It allows people convert pdf or img files to flip book. It is able to just click on the website and view the document.
