links broken when file shared between mac and PC

      Hello,
      I am experiencing problem with how PC and Mac refer to path/files. DOcument with links created on PC is opened in MAC – all links are broken even if later opened on PC. Now, I do suspect that the solution is refer the path in a different way. so my questions are:
      1) does somebody know how to link files so that it does not create this issue when sharing mac/pc? obviously related to the letter mapping on PC
      2) is there a workaround such as script possible that would fix the links for PC or Mac?

      Are you talking about the InDesign files themselves? Or PDF files?
      If it’s the ID files, then I’m not sure this can work well, unless the files are on a server. Or, better, keep all the links inside a Links folder, inside the same folder as the InDesign file. (Or put the InDesign file inside the folder with all the images, then open it to auto-relink to them. Then you can save and move the file out again, I think.)

      Are the ID files on a server or are you sharing the data between computers with a USB stick?
