I want to layer two separate pdfs, one over the other. The base pdf is a pdf that will be eventually uploaded to a printer. The second pdf is a template that overlays the base pdf to check bleed, type safety & other set elements like rules and spacing. The method I have chosen to do this is a Command in Acrobat Wizard that layers the template pdf (at 50% opacity) over the base pdf, so I can toggle the template on/off to verify all of the elements that need to match perfectly. What complicates this is several different page sizes of magazines with different element placement. I have successfully created commands based upon the page size and page setup, but each command that I click on in Action Wizard still brings up a window that forces me to browse for the matching template pdf. The whole process is effective, but what I was hoping for was no browsing. Is there a way to click on a specific command in the sidebar and have it overlay the template it matches to without browsing? When I set up the commands I thought I had equated the command with the specific template.
