      Hi.

Is there a way to get the last page of a book?

So I can add a “current page number” followed by a “last page of book” in the footer of all documents of a book.

Martin: The only good way that I’ve seen is to use cross-references. I’ll try to write that up as a blog post asap.

      Ok you mean:
      1. create your documents
      2. bind it together with the book panel
      —magic begins here–
      3. insert a text anchor on the “target page” – the last one. This can be found in the hyperlinks panel under “create new hyperlink target”
      4. go to the master page of your document which syncs all your documents in the book
      5. insert here a cross reference linked to the text anchor with the property <pageNum />

Thats a brilliant Idea David and… it works perfectly!

Just realized I forgot an important step in that blog post: Edit the cross-reference Format so that it doesn’t show the word “page”! Okay, I updated the blog post.
