Hi all-
I'm a newbie to both this forum and the InDesign software and I thought I take a few moments and introduce myself. My name's Sasha and I'm currently unemployed due to the cancer diagnosis that I was unfortunate enuff to contract. I thought (in mortal terror) that I would do something productive while I while away the hours during the course of my treatment and I stumbled upon InDesign.
I'm not new to software, but I am to the Adobe way. My previous experiences with anything other than Acrobat were far too intimidating, so I decided (at the time) to agreee to disagree, so to speak. I discovered a software package called PagePlus (by Serif) which led me to QuarkXpress, which in turn led me to InDesign. My first few attempts at deciphering InDesign went pretty much the same way as my Dreamweaver experience and after more than a few WTF?!??!!, I found myself beginning to grasp the InDesign workspace and workflow.
I'm so glad that I did muster up the fortitude to continue with the program. I've always been interested in graphic design, altho most would say graphically challenged, and what a revelation InDesign has been. It appears, with my newbie glasses on, that InDesign is a truly complete layout package and OMG!…I'm finding myself having so much fun! So much for mortal terror!
Anyways, I'll try not to be too much of a PITA as I make my way through the software. Please be patient and I'll add my forum 'signature' before my first “Help!” post.
