Is it possible to set up a heading style so that it will (1) bounce to the next odd-numbered page and (2) start 2 inches down from the top margin? The “space before” option apparently only kicks in if there is other text on the page.

It won't be the end of the world if I have to manually drag down the text box to the right position, but I'm curious if there's a way to automate it.

      Thanks!

You can use the Keep Options settings (in the paragraph styles definition) to start the paragraph on “the next odd page.”

And you can use a trick to force it to start down on the page:

You can also see this in action in Rufus' “euro-bonus” tip… go to

click on “Tim Cole’s Frame-based grids” and look at page 7

You could use the Start On Next Odd Page setting along with a large paragragh rule above set to keep in frame with a color of None. The size of the rule would be adjusted depending on the type size.
