G'day all, here's my situation.
I had to use a slightly different work around for this job, and that produced unexpected results. Is it due to my large page size? Is there a page size limit in InDesign?
Work Routine #1
- InDesign page size 1100X1550
- Bleed 15mm (this is where I manually placed all my 10mm trim marks, which sat exactly 5mm out from the page size)
- The pdf produced was 1130X1580 (good so far, until I looked further)
- Here's where the error happened. I intentionally created four separate vertical trim marks at the bottom of my page. The two inner most marks had been moved right the way up inside the document just over half way. In other words, they were still in the same Y axis, but the X axis was up near the middle of my page. Why?
I searched my entire document and found out they were not in my document by accident. They had literally been taken from the bottom of my page and placed near halfway. Still the same size but in the wrong position.
This is what I did to overcome the issue but it still doesn't explain to me why I even had to do this in the first place.
Work Routine #2
- InDesign page size increased by 50mm to 1150X1600
- All the trim marks were grouped so they all stayed in the same place,. (This extra size simply created extra white space around my document, and allowed all my imposition trim to remain untouched)
- The pdf produced was 1180X1630
The outcome worked and I'm not sure why the first approach didn't.
Any insights would be great.
