I produce documents with 100s of pages of accounting tables. Within each table, loss figures appear in parenthesis and their Cell Style has a different right indent in allow the ')' to hang. Is it possible to apply this style throughout a document using a GREP expression?

      Many thanks in advance.

No, if you look in the Replace field of Find/Change you can see there is no option for that.

      Hi Jongware,

      thanks for your speedy reply.

However, I wasn't thinking GREP exclusively. I know I can apply a GREP style to the contents of any cell which starts and ends with parenthesis. I expect therefore that somewhere in the bowels of the file, the code for cell + content + GREP will appear. It's way beyond my ken, but I was wondering if this configuration could trigger a script to apply a different cell style, or simply amend the right indent of the cell. (I use the word simply with my tongue firmly in my cheek!)

Why do you need a different right indent? Would a digital-aligned tab in the paragraph style not do the trick?

Tried it and it does work, however it has implications for those cell whose data is followed by units ie. pence, cents, %, million, billion, etc. and more so, those with no data at all, indicated with either an en dash or the word nil.
