Hey there again guys,
The book I do has a normal TOC (fine), but also a few weird variants. The odd variations are currently set up with cross-references, but I’m trying to figure out if I can leverage the TOC feature to make some of these oddnesses less painful because there are too many.
Here’s a simplified snap shot of the book AS IT STANDS PRESENTLY. The first TOC (the normal one) is set up the same way:
• Task Chairs
1. Header [A Chair] Subhead: Executive
2. Header [B Chair] Subhead: Heavy Duty and Task
3. Header [C Chair] Subhead: Task
3. Header [D Chair] Subhead: Conference and Heavy Duty
• Tables
1. Header [A Table] Subhead: HAT
2. Header [B Table] Subhead: Multipurpose
3. Header [C Table] Subhead: Multipurpose and Desking
So… the ODD VARIATION that I need to make
Can TOC be used to create lists by category (in this case the subhead)? It’s functionally backward from the book’s regular logic and some collection names will need to appear in multiple categories.
So referring to the original logic above, this variant would need to be:
• Conference Chair
1. [Chair D] —- page number
• Executive Chair
1. [Chair A]—- page number
• Heavy Duty
1. [Chair B]—- page number
2. [Chair D]—- page number
• Task
1. [Chair B]—- page number
2. [Chair C]—- page number
Thanks in advanced,
Nora
