I created an alternate layout from a poster to a letter-sized flyer, however insets in the text frame options, gutters, etc. are still showing the spacing for the poster size. For example, the inset spacing on a text frame on the left margin is 163pt, but the margin is 36pt—that 163pt is less space in my layout than the page margin.

I used Scale for the liquid page rule and checked link stories, and copy styles to new style group.

How can I get this to be the proper sizing for the layout?

Update: This issue is also with the font size.

I’ve tried re-creating the alternate layout with every liquid rule possible, un-checking every box in the alt. layout options, etc. As suspected, scale is the only one that creates a decent alternate layout, but nothing I’ve done gives me proper sizing.

Interestingly, the font size shows 44pt(12.1) in the control, property, and character panels…

I ended up solving this issue:

In the Control Panel flyout menu, there’s an option to redefine scaling at 100%. David Blatner’s fix to remove text size parenthesis led me to this answer! Thanks David!

You’re welcome! I’m glad that was helpful.

Yeah, alternate layouts are very tricky for things like this. The new Adjust Layout feature can be really good at resizing/repositioning, but it’s not really built into alternate layouts.
