If this is answered already somewhere I'd appreciate the help, but I had this come up tonight and couldn't find an obvious way to do it. When inserting a page in a document or spread, is it possible to have the page automatically go in at the same size and proper orientation as the document you're putting it in? I noticed that adding to a document I'd set up at 6×9″, an inserted page or spread wants to go in at standard 8.5×11″. I've read up on resizing the page, and can do that well enough, but it seems like a kludge that when adding to an existing document InDesign wouldn't default to inserting at the same size, or at least ask if you want to insert at the size of the preceding page, etc.

Having to change the size after the fact also means having to make sure you align to the proper corner so things don't end up out of whack…which always gives me heartburn.

Did you possibly create your document as 8.5 x 11″ and afterwards used the Page Resize tool to get the size you wanted?

Check the size that's reported in Document Setup.
