      Hello All,

Is there a way to get the same type of wonderful captions images can have for non-images?

I am trying to create a trial notebook in InDesign and one of the many sections is entitled, “Treatises.” I would like to have the treatise title, section name and page number automatically appear on the right side of the page as well as the bottom of the page.

I have metadata for each treatise document (a linked MS Word document), including title, name, author, etc. There are only two (2) treatises, but in other sections (such as caselaw), several documents will be used.

I have the section and page number working, but have fallen into despair with title of each treatise being grabbed either by metadata or the name of the linked file (either would be fine).

So, I ask: Is there a way to pull metadata or the file name from an MS Word document (or RTF) and place the metadata or file name in a Master page (or regular page), similar to the caption options for images?

      Thank you for any insight,

      edsager
