Hi Guys,
I have updated from InDesign CS6 to CC and have since noticed it slowing down dramatically. I have noticed that it constantly refreshes my thumbnails in the Pages tab and can take 1-2 seconds to refresh a single thumbnail. This doesn’t help when I have a 400 page Catalogue.
I turned off the thumbnail view so it doesn’t have to refresh and just shows blank thumbnails. This helped a lot for a while and then the Master Pages thumbnails decided it didn’t to play the game and started taking seconds to refresh, so every time I scroll it will need to refresh. I have turned this off and now it’s ‘faster’ but is still painfully slower compared to when I was working on a similar 380 page catalogue a year ago (there were no issues a year ago, everything was zippy and really fast)
I have also turned off preflight and my display performance set to typical with overprint preview turned off.
Does anyone know of a fix or workaround for this?
Every time I turn something off it’s just slowing my workflow down as I have to take additional steps. I don’t know if it’s because I moved to CC. Its essentially a fresh document except for some elements I copied from last years catalogue.
I’m running an iMac 3.4Ghz Intel i7 with 16GB Ram – OSX version: 10.8.5
